There has been far too long a gap since I last reported.   But the Archive project has been rolling – slowly – on.    At the last count, the number of scanned documents/pictures/recordings etc. has exceeded fifty thousand … and some of the (re-)discoveries have been astounding, with doubtless more to come.  There is little which I can share with you at the moment, as the task of sorting, identifying and cataloguing is both tedious and time-consuming.

Much is changing here in Saunière’s country and 2014 will, I suspect, mark a new phase in the life of the village.  It is a significant year in many respects and March 18 sees the 700th anniversary of the burning of Jacques de Molay, last Grand Master of the Knights Templar … a day which we should remember.

I shall be updating this entry shortly with details of my plans for 2014.
